Strong Pitching Lifts ADM Over Perry
The ADM Baseball team secured a 2-1 walk-off win against the Perry Bluejays on Tuesday night, marking their fourth victory of the season.
Perry drew first blood in the third inning when Sophomore Wyitt Belgarde crossed home plate, driven in by Junior Geren Kenney's timely hit. However, ADM was quick to respond in the bottom half of the inning. Rhylan Stine-Smith initiated the rally with a single, and shortly after, Senior Grant Rychnovsky's single brought Stine-Smith home, leveling the score at 1-1.
The game remained deadlocked as both teams displayed strong pitching and defense. ADM's starting pitcher, Reed Ausdemore, delivered a stellar performance over five innings, conceding only two hits and one run while striking out eight batters. His counterpart from Perry, Senior Kaelen Davis, pitched four solid innings, giving up six hits and one run, with two walks and three strikeouts.
As the game progressed into the bottom of the seventh inning, ADM's Sophomore Leyton Gerleman drew a crucial leadoff walk and eventually advanced to third base with two outs. With the game on the line, Grant Rychnovsky once again stepped up to the plate and delivered the game-winning hit, sending Gerleman home and securing the walk-off win for the Tigers.
ADM's Jack Siefken, who took over pitching duties in the final two innings, was credited with the win. Siefken's composed performance saw him allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out three.
