Bats Come Alive in 10-4 Victory Over Gilbert

The ADM Tigers' baseball team delivered an impressive performance on Monday night, securing a decisive 10-4 win against Gilbert.

The Tigers set the tone early by scoring a run in the top of the first inning. They maintained their momentum into the second inning, where they exploded with five runs, building a commanding 6-0 lead by the end of the frame. This early offensive surge was crucial in establishing a buffer that Gilbert found challenging to overcome.

ADM continued to pressure Gilbert's defense, adding two more runs in the fourth inning to stretch their lead to 8-0. Gilbert responded in the bottom of the fourth, managing to score three runs and narrow the gap to 8-3. However, the Tigers' offense was relentless. They tacked on two additional runs in the sixth inning, solidifying their lead at 10-3. Gilbert managed one more run in the bottom of the sixth, but it wasn't enough to spark a comeback, and ADM sealed the win at 10-4.

Key Performances
- Grant Rychnovsky had an impressive night, finishing 3-for-4 with a double, two runs, and two RBIs.
- Grant Jansen, who also pitched, went 1-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in two runs. He showcased his pitching prowess as well, throwing six innings with nine hits allowed, four runs (two earned), three walks, and two strikeouts.
- Jaxson Book added a double, scoring once and recording an RBI.

In total, the Tigers amassed ten hits and utilized a combination of timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and solid pitching to secure the win.

Pitching and Defense

Jansen's strong six-inning performance on the mound was supported by solid defense, with only three errors committed by the Tigers. Cole Waddingham provided a seamless relief effort, pitching one inning with no hits or runs allowed and striking out one.

ADM's defensive contributions were notable, with players like Cade Fisher recording 11 putouts at first base and Ben Plaisance adding two assists from second base. The team's fielding efforts helped contain Gilbert's offense, particularly in key moments where the Tigers needed to maintain their lead.

With this win, the ADM Tigers improve to 10-9 overall and 5-3 in the Raccoon River Conference.
