ADM Wrestling Sweeps Carroll and Ballard
The ADM wrestling team picked up a pair of impressive road victories on Thursday, January 10, earning dual wins over Carroll and host Ballard at Ballard High School. With the sweep, the Tigers improved to 4–2 in Raccoon River Conference duals and 5–6 overall on the season.
ADM 38, Carroll 32
ADM opened the night with a hard-fought 38–32 win over Carroll, highlighted by early momentum and several key bonus-point victories.
The Tigers jumped out to a fast start as Paxton Sutter (106), Cade Steinfeldt (113), and Kaden Smith (120) each earned falls to put ADM up 18–0. After Carroll answered back in the middle weights, ADM continued to find success with pins from Grayson Sutter (138) and Henry Krug (165).
Crucial decisions by Hudson Lewerke (175) and bonus points from Ethan Johnson (150) helped ADM maintain the edge despite Carroll collecting points in the upper weights. When the final bout concluded, the Tigers secured the six-point team victory.
ADM also had a strong showing in junior varsity action with falls from Logan Connick, Keegan Clinton, and Hoyt Sutton.
ADM 64, Ballard 11
ADM carried that momentum into the second dual of the night, rolling past Ballard 64–11 in dominant fashion.
The Tigers received forfeits at 106 and 113 before quickly building separation with falls from Landon Moorhead (126), Grayson Sutter (138), Ethan Johnson (150), Henry Krug (165), Hudson Lewerke (175), Jackson Hasty (215), and Tommy Harbison (285). Johnson's pin came just 19 seconds into his match, setting the tone for the dual.
ADM won 11 of the 14 varsity matches, scoring bonus points in nine of those victories. The Tigers also collected a junior varsity win from Will Andrew, Hank Scott, and Nick Mash to close out the night.
ADM will look to build on Thursday's success as the Tigers continue RRC competition later this season.
